Today I met with members of the Friends of Park Hill Park group, we are so lucky to have the amount of beautiful parks and green spaces we are very fortunate to have in Croydon.
Park Hill is unique in its history, and proximity to the town centre, I was very pleased to see how the group are working to try and turn around the image of the space, which if not look after would fall into the similar reputation the town centre has fallen into. They have created a community garden, and have used external funding streams to help make this project a reality. Friends groups often have access to funds which the council does not, I would like to support the friends groups across Croydon however I can, to enable the 47+ groups grow to their full potential.
A number of issues were raised on the walkaround, and I have taken a number of issues and asked officers to look into them.
