Cllr Robert Ward and me were shown around today by officers at Croydon's Street Lighting Depot.
We both found it very interesting to see the behind the scenes on such an important facility all of us in Croydon require. They do such a good job managing the contract, that we barely even notice them as assets across the borough. We were told of how the system works to notify the maintenance team when a bulb blows etc.
It was great to see how the contractor and council officers have build a close working relationship, I would like to see this replicated in our other contracts such as waste and recycling. I will be using this site visit as a reference tool to try and replicate this across the board.
