Friends of Selsdon Wood Walkaround

Today I went on a beautiful walkaround with the friends of Selsdon Wood. 

I am spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful green spaces in Croydon. I just love the passion the friends of groups have for their local areas, and this was no different with this group. 

They were proud to show their spot which has been dedicated for the "Beautiful Butterflies" trial, a trial I am looking at expanding. 

We discussed a number of issues including grass cutting, bench maintenance, and how they want to use community payback helpers, and needing the councils support to make that happen. 

I have taken a number of tasks and queries away for officers to look into, and I will be in regular communication with the friends of group, together with ward colleagues and my deputy for customer service Cllr Lara Fish.
