It was a pleasure to be invited to and visit the Baitul Futuh Ahmadi mosque earlier this month, invited by local Shirley resident Mudassar Malik. Mr Malik, who is also a member of the council's RE committee (SACRE) accompanied the RE officer and me around several of the public areas, our quartet being completed by another member of the mosque who hosted and guided us.
The photo shows us in the exhibition area, where we viewed information displays and pictures on the history of the Ahmadi community and its particular association with the UK, and received kind hospitality and refreshments. The work here is continuing so I hope to visit again soon.
