Trumble Gardens is a fantastic green lung for Thornton Heath, being located very close to the Library on Brigstock Road. Not only is it a great place to visit by day, but it also acts as a community hub for one-off activities like this display of Chinese lanterns hosted in January, as photographed by Conservative Group Leader Cllr Tim Pollard.
Tim says "We think spaces like this deserve our commitment and protection. That’s why the Conservatives have pledged to do everything in their power to give it local protection in the future and promise that they will never build on this or any of the other 30 newly vulnerable spaces."
I could not agree more, and as a candidate for Bensham Manor, the ward within which Trumble Gardens falls, I will work tirelessly to protect it. Any local plan I have a say in will have recreational green space high on its priorities. We need to make the most of the ones we have and keep them. They don't need to be fancy, but they must be there, as a breathing space for people of all ages, old and young
