Kenley residents who use Keston and Moorings Medical Practice will know how frustrating the appointments systems can be. It has been hard to get an appointment unless you went online, and available slots would soon go. This made it particularly difficult for people who didn’t have access to the internet to book an appointment.
Yesterday I was pleased to attend a community meeting at Christ Church in Purley to find out more about the new appointments booking system. Practice managers were on hand to discuss the new KLINIK system and answer questions. I arrived at the start, to a full room, busy with people discussing their issues and concerns about getting an appointment to see a medical professional at the practice.
Our small group quizzed the practice manager and by the end we all felt that the new system would be better. As well as people being able to book online, dedicated receptionists would be on hand to take details from patients on the phone. Whether residents contact the practice online or by phone, the same range of questions will be posed to help the Clinical Triage team to assess and direct patients to the most appropriate help.
The background to why a new system is being introduced and what the system will offer to patients is laid out well on the practice website at https://www.kestonmooringsmedical.co.uk/news/klinik.
It’s well worth taking the time to have a read before the system goes live on 16th January 2023.
The practice manager talking to our group was very reassuring and said that they will actively chase feedback to ensure that the new system meets the needs of patients in the most appropriate way possible.
