I had the opportunity to meet staff and residents at Heavers Court. The modern building provides residential, nursing and respite care for older people, including those who are living with dementia. Maintaining independence is key to health and wellbeing in later life. As well as supporting residents in the care home the Active Lives programme supports families and carers to remain independent for longer.
