No not Bonfire night but the BIRD SANCTUARY THE GLADE IN OLD COULSDON 10am-12 noon!
For many years the Council has not been able to do as much with maintaining areas such as the perimeter of The Bird Sanctuary and with the current financial deficit inherited, would not be able to do so in the foreseeable future.
Hence the call on volunteers as happens with the Friends Groups on Grange Park, Bradmore Green Pond, and Coulsdon Coppice. All need volunteers
CC however do provide bags/brooms/litterpickers and remove rubbish but please byo secateurs/weeders/gloves.
We had our first day on Saturday but unfortunately only Mick, Mike, Janice and Janet, Margaret, and Nikhill, could make it this time. Last year we had 30 on the first day.
We do litter pick around the perimeter too as there is some flytipping sand bottles and cans being thrown over the fence, which can harm the wildlife, still going on l. The latest being a pile of apples, which could have gone in the food bin or on the compost heap.
