I met with an engineer from Thames Water to discuss sewer problems on Reddown Road and Hadleigh Grove. The problems include smells from waste and, even worse, ongoing problems with sewage over spilling onto land outside flats on Hadleigh Grove. Unacceptable. We discussed further remedial action including a locking cover for a sewer cover on Reddown Road to prevent a tap allowing water into and out of a retention tank from being turned on and off. This will be actioned as soon as the locking cover can be located and fit. This will be followed by regular inspections. I will continue to monitor the situation which has created unacceptable misery for local residents.
