Following the elections earlier this month, we wanted to introduce ourselves as your returning and newly elected Conservative Councillors for Kenley.
Part of our role as Councillors is to represent you on Croydon Council, respond to queries, and investigate Council-related concerns of Kenley residents, so we wanted to make sure you had our contact details in case you needed to get in touch. Our email addresses are:
Croydon faces a challenging few years ahead. Against the backdrop of the bankruptcy that Croydon was forced into by the last administration, there’s plenty to do for the Council to become more responsive to residents, improve service delivery and give better value for money.
The election of Jason Perry as the new Executive Mayor gives us a good chance to do this.
His priority is to clean up Croydon and restore pride in our Borough.
Already in his first week, Mayor Jason Perry has:
- Pledged to reopen Purley Pool & Leisure Centre as soon as possible;
- Drawn up plans to bring back the Graffiti Removal Team;
- Instructed officers to review planning policy and abolish Labour's Design Guide;
- Set out his intentions to support Croydon’s local businesses;
- Developed plans to deliver cleaner streets, tackle fly-tipping, make waste disposal easier and make sure grass is cut in public spaces.
We believe that this change in direction will be good for Kenley residents, and the Borough as a whole.
As your Councillors, we pledge that we will work closely with you, with Residents’ Associations, and with other community groups. We will help the Council run more effectively to make Croydon a better place to live and work.
The Council does have a great app called ‘Love Clean Streets,’ which you can also use to report street problems such as excess litter, dog fouling etc. It's available on the standard app stores, and is a great way to get certain issues sorted quickly.
If you have any thoughts or ideas on what could be done better in Kenley, we’d love to hear from you – so please don’t hesitate to contact us.
With best wishes,
Cllrs. Gayle Gander & Ola Kolade
