Croydon - An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty?

Farthing Downs

Natural England is currently holding a Boundary Review for the Surrey Hills Area of Outstandinf Natural Beauty (‘AONB’), and considering extending its boundaries to parts of Croydon including Riddlesdown Common and Farthing Downs.

Recognising these areas as an AONB would mean, amongst other things, that these treasured green spaces would be legally safeguarded and protected from overdevelopment - something which your local Conservative Councillors are extremely passionate about.
