Last month I attended the Friends of Purley Beeches AGM. This group undertakes a huge amount of work in the park and works alongside the Friends of Wettern Tree Garden. Since the council's bankruptcy these groups have become so important in maintaining our green spaces. The diminished staff at the council means that much of the work is being undertaken by local residents. Do look out for the notices of working party dates but you can get in touch with them directly if the set times don't suit you and you are able to work indpendently.
