In the recent referendum the people of Croydon decided to change the way the Council is run, from the Leader/Cabinet model that it has had for some years, to a directly elected Mayor. There are similarities between the two models, but also some significant differences. Council officers have produced the attached document to help people understand what the change means.
The Mayor will be chosen in May 2022 at the same time as the election of the seventy ward Councillors. The Conservative Party candidate for the role of Mayor is Councillor Jason Perry.
