Many residents in the Hamsey Green area have been subjected to flooding. In particular in Ashdown Gardens and Kingswood Avenue the level of water rises to a worrying level. I have been trying to get flood alleviation works undertaken in this area but since the council's bankruptcy many projects are on hold. I received the following response from officers: We have been investigating the flooding mechanism in Ashdown Gardens as well as Kingswood Avenue but have yet to identify a viable solution that could be implemented to alleviate the flooding, without increasing the flood risk elsewhere. We are currently looking to undertake further site investigation/surveys to improve our understanding of the site and performance of the existing drainage infrastructure. As the funding for this financial year has already been allocated to flood alleviation measures which are ready to be implemented, it is anticipated that a viable/affordable solution for Ashdown Gardens and Kingswood Avenue would be identified, designed and ready for implementation in the 2022/23 financial year.
