The planning application for a new cafe/restaurant at 77 Mitchley Ave was granted by the Council on 9 June 2021. The permitted hours of use will be 7 am to 10.30 pm - 7 days a week.
On 29 June, two more planning applications appeared on the Council's website. They are for both the Paul Meakin estate agent shops at 77/79 Mitchley Ave, to use both shops as a 'bar and grill'. One application is for new shop fronts and change of use for 79 - link. No 77 already has permission for change of use as mentioned above. The other application is for signage - link
I am liaising with the council licensing department to see if an alcohol licence has been applied for or granted. Whilst we welcome investment in the ward it is extremely important that full consideration in the licence if given takes into account any impact on nearby neighbours. Residents in the flats and surrounding houses are naturally concerned and of course parking is an issue in and around this small parade of shops.
