Sanderstead WI will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year as soon as Covid regulations allow. On their Diamond Jubilee, members planted roses in Sanderstead Library Garden, and a commemoration stone dated 1921-1981 marks the occasion. Owing to concerns for the future of the library, Sanderstead WI felt community minded to tend to their rose bed. A group has been formed to prune and weed, and has planted some lavender - some are looking forward to making lavender biscuits! They have no access to water, so each member has to carry as much water as they can - not easy! The centenary celebration coincides with our partnership with the Library with which we have been liaising for the past five years. Happy birthday Sanderstead WI!
I am looking into how I can help the group access water to help in their good work. Thank you for all you are doing here in the community.
