Further to the long running issues around the extension built on the front of Helvadere restaurant without planning permission I can update on the current position.
The extension was refused retrospective planning permission and the owners appealed this decision. A site visit was undertaken in March and a decision taken to dismiss the appeal on the 21st April this year. As of that date there is a 6 month period for the extension to be brought back to the extent allowed in previous planning consents. We are currently in this 6 month period and the enforcement department at Croydon Council will now wait until closer to the 6 month deadline before re-visiting the site to ensure compliance. I will be monitoring this to ensure that the site returns to a fully compliant state with regard to it's planning status. As yet I have seen no moves to comply.
I have attached the appeal decision for reference.
many thanks
