It was great to hear that South Croydon Recreation Ground will have another 5 Sakura trees making a total of 15. That will really make a difference to the park.
Originally there were 10 Cherry trees allocated to the park to celebrate the Olympics in Japan.
Following my meeting yesterday morning with Helen a trees and woodland officer she promised she would try to get some more and she did! She rang the Japanese Embassy and was allocated another 5. She has shown such determination to do the best for South Croydon and all of Croydon as she has no tree budget at all due to the bankruptcy of the Labour Administration
I am hopeful too we can get another 5 trees that will be a different variety for the park from 106 monies. I am sure the Friends of South Croydon Recreation Ground will work with Helen to decide the best place for these trees.
