Big shout out to Mr Mendez, Team Leader of the Grounds Maintenance Team at Croydon Council, who went out of his way to provide a dog waste bin at the Brent Road entrance to Littleheath Woods. This had been requested by a number of residents and initially we were advised that
'Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate your request. Under the Environmental Act 1990 dog faeces are no longer classified as hazardous, as a result we stopped the purchase of Dog Bins and all the existing stock has already been deployed.'
He could have left it there, but a few days later, he contacted me to say there had been some reshuffling of bins in other areas and he could provide a dog waste bin after all.
Two weeks later and the bin has been installed!
