Proposed Mobile Phone Mast in Mitchley Ave
This application is on the border of Sanderstead ward so I thought residents would like to have the opportunity to comment since it may be of interest to neighbouring properties. These masts are extremely tall - as you will note from the one in Hamsey Green. Any comments please submit them to the council.
The Riddlesdown Residents' Association have posted these comments:
A planning application has been submitted by Hutchinson 3G for a 20 metre high 5G mobile phone mast on the highway grass verge of Mitchley Ave near to St Edmund's Hall, (opposite to the 'up' road to Buttermere Gardens). The proposed mast at this location is because the Council refused a similar application on Mitchley Ave beside 152 Riddlesdown Rd last year.
Whilst this location is slightly better, the applicant has not taken into account that the associated boxes and mast would be in and very close to the area where if floods in heavy rain, by the zebra crossing on Mitchley Ave! The application can be viewed on this link to the Council's Planning Department.
Because it will be for 5G use the mast needs to be higher and have the antennae showing which do not make them look that attractive compared to some masts that are shrouded. For 5G use, more masts are also required as the coverage is not as good.
It appears the closing date for comments is 4 June.
