Following rumours of an unexploded bomb being found in Kendall Avenue South or Norman Avenue yesterday, I have received the following message from the local Police team this morning:
"A resident on the ward was digging in his garden yesterday (03/04/2021) when he found a metal item that he believed could have been an old world war bomb. A call was made to police, residents were asked to leave their homes as a precaution and our explosive unit attended. It was examined and was not an explosive device so residents were allowed to return home sometime after 8pm last night."
