These photos were taken recently by residents in Russell Hill / Road & More Close / Foxley Lane area, where there are no less than NINE building sites currently under construction, and another ENORMOUS one with 155 flats is threatened at 922-930 Purley Way.
We all know that construction is a messy business and there's nothing wrong or illegal about any of these photos, but the cumulative impact of so many sites being worked on at the same time causes so much more grief to residents than if they are better spaced out. Cumulative impact is supposed to be one of the factors considered at the planning committee stage, but its Labour members appear to take a positive delight in voting through almost every planning application in the Purley area (& elsewhere in the South). This is why Purley currently has the unenviable claim to be supplying about 50% of all new homes for the whole of Croydon - what about the other 26 wards?
