Cllr. Andy Stranack (Shadow Cabinet Member for Safer Croydon and Communities) received his Pfizer COVID19 jab today at the Valley Park Surgery. Andy has Cerebral palsy, Crohn's disease and battled Bowl cancer a few years ago, so falls into Cohort 6 of the vaccination programme.
Andy commented
"I have attended a number of the excellent events hosted by the BME Forum, Croydon Churches Together and other organisations. As Shadow Cabinet Member for Safer Croydon and Communities I have listened carefully to residents concerns about the vaccine and I have been reassured by the excellent medical advice given at these community events.
The process today could not have been easier, I would like to say a massive thank you to the NHS staff and army of volunteers who make the vaccination process run so smoothly. The whole process took around twenty minutes and so far I have felt no side effects. My main sense now is one of relief, I have taken the first step to protect myself, my friend, my family and the wider community against this life threatening virus.
When you are invited for a vaccination I would urge you to go, the process is quick, simple and pain free."
