Sadly, our ward surgeries and street stalls will be cancelled until future notice. However, we can arrange a video call if you need to discuss something face to face. Please contact your local team to arrange this.

It is clear that we are in for many months of disruption to our normal routines and our prime concern has to be the preservation of life. Please follow Government advice on soclal distancing and any further restrictions which may be imposed on individual movement.

One of the services that virtually all residents use is the bin and recycling service. As of lunchtime on Mon 23 Mar the advice was as fllows, but please check the link above for updates.

Bins and recycling

General waste and food waste collections are being prioritised.

Recycling and waste collections are still running, but your collection may be later than usual. If your collection is missed, please leave your bins at your normal point of collection. We will try to return in the coming days to empty your bins, but you may have to wait until your next scheduled collection. You can still report your missed collection via My Account. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

Residents should continue to use their recycling and general waste collection services as normal unless they have coronavirus symptoms.

Households that are self-isolating should follow the government's 'stay at home' advice, which states:

  • store personal waste, such as used tissues and disposable cleaning cloths, within disposable rubbish bags
  • place these bags into a second bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste
  • put aside these bags for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external general waste bin
  • do not take this waste to your local Household Reuse and Recycling Centre (HRRC)
