We are reminding residents that health and care services are open during the festive season if anyone needs help and support at this time.
If you are feeling unwell and have a minor illness, you can get advice and treatments from your pharmacy and GP in Croydon.
Remember to check you have enough medication during the Christmas and New Year period and order what you need in plenty of time to avoid running out. You can order repeat prescriptions from your GP or on the NHS app.

For help to keep warm, safe and well, do follow the NHS guidance to look after yourself and also look out for others who may struggle in the cold weather to ensure they have what they need like food and medication. Cold weather can impact on some people’s health more than others, for example those over 65, those with a chronic or severe illness, pregnant women and children under the age of five.
There are free warm spaces in leisure centres, community and religious venues in Croydon for those who need extra support throughout the winter months. Some offer hot food and drinks, activities and services such as debt advice, help with benefits, energy saving, and support to get online - please check the opening times before attending.
You can access the council’s cost of living hub and our healthy homes website for important information if anyone is concerned about not having enough money to heat their home or eat well.
Jason Perry, Executive Mayor of Croydon, said: “Croydon Council, the local NHS and community organisations are supporting residents with information to help you during the Christmas and New Year period. Whether you are feeling unwell and need medical help, or feeling anxious, worried, or lonely during this time, care and treatment is there if you need it. There are also actions you can take to stay healthy this winter and reduce your chances of needing to visit A&E. Please follow the NHS cold weather guidance and get in touch with medical, health and care services as soon as you need them.”
