What has happened to our bus shelters? This is a question a number of residents have asked me.
Shivering in the cold wind and rain is not an appealing prospect as the weather has changed.
Following my query to the Council I have been given the following information
The contract with JCDecaux ended in March and the company were not willing to extend their contract with Croydon Council.
JCD removed their shelters over the summer to the dismay of residents who were left with no information as to why this had happened.
Croydon Council has appointed a new provider. While the replacements sound good with smart technology there are no dates available for the replacements yet as the rollout is dependent on planning consent for digital advertising.
Meanwhile as autumn bites residents are once again left in the cold with very poor communication and planning from Croydon’s Labour Council
