The first suggestion I got as a Councillor for an improvement was from a resident with a disabled wife. They regularly had to visit the doctor's surgery, but getting out of the car and into a wheelchair was hampered by the disabled parking bay having no hard standing, so necessitating a struggle over a grass verge.
It took a while but eventually the Council were able to make the necessary change. The proximity of a tree prevented both spaces being so modified, but one is better than none.
