Over 30 people turned up to help at Wettern Tree Garden. From digging over the delphinium border to weeding and sweeping paths and removing ivy from the hedge the group worked hard to ensure the community had a beautiful garden to enjoy. We finished the day with watering the beautiful roses. Regular events are scheduled to help maintain the grounds since the council only has a limited staff since being bankrupt. We are grateful that they managed to cut the grass and help do some of the weeding. It is a real task to manage the plot which is extremely large. The Friends hope to attend again next month to remove more ivy from the hedge and continue work on some of the other beds. Do visit and look at the beautiful rose garden - it looks particularly lovely at this time of the year.
