The parade of shops on Old Lodge Lane has been going from strength to strength over the past few years. It was a delight to recently visit two new much-welcomed additions, which are bringing some colour, vibrancy and life to the parade.
Earlier this month, Steven Robertson Art opened a gallery showcasing contemporary artwork from a number of wide range of artists, including Bob Dylan.
It was great to talk to Steven about his plans and his desire to get involved in the community and support local artists, as well as check out some very cool art.

My next visit was to Cocoa Jones, which has been operating in Purley for a while but opened a shop on the Old Lodge Lane in November last year. Talking to owner, Naz, I sampled wonderful ethically sourced chocolate and learnt about their tasting events and chocolate-making parties, something I’d definitely like to try soon.

The shops on Old Lodge Lane are collaborating together and have named their parade of shops, Reedham Village, which I love. As a collective, they are looking to do other events like street markets and open evenings which is most welcomed, and it’s great to see a bit more variety in this area.
Thank you to Steven and Naz for a great afternoon and I wish them the best of luck for successful and popular local businesses.
