The latest vaccination update from Matthew and Agnelo:
We are writing to update you on our community vaccination sites.
We have now delivered over 1.8 million vaccinations across South West London and over the summer we have the capacity to deliver a further 170,000 doses to local people, including second doses and those who have not yet been vaccinated and need first and second doses.
Since the beginning of the programme over 50% of vaccines have been delivered by GPs who have now submitted their plans for taking part in the autumn boosters programme from early September 2021.
Alongside this our community vaccination centres have played a huge part in our wider programme alongside community pharmacies and teams of clinicians delivering additional pop-up clinics in venues including churches, mosques, temples and schools to target the areas to bring the vaccine to local communities. This will continue in the coming months.
In the last seven months sports clubs, art venues and shopping centres across South West London have been transformed into warm and friendly community vaccination centres where local people feel safe to come in and be vaccinated.
With restrictions easing Crystal Palace Football Club, Harlequins Rugby Club, AFC Wimbledon and Battersea Arts Centre need to reopen their businesses to fans, patrons and customers.
As we stop vaccinating at the clinic at Crystal Palace Football Club on Tuesday 17 August 2021, we will continue to have capacity for hundreds of vaccinations each day nearby including at Centrale Shopping Centre, Croydon University Hospital, and Mayday Pharmacy.
It is never too late for people to come forward and get their vaccine. You can book your vaccination appointment at www.nhs.uk or freephone 119. You can also find your closest walk-in clinic at www.swlondonccg.nhs.uk
We thank you for your continued support in sharing this information with local people.
