As part of the incredible national effort to roll out the Covid vaccine the Government has allowed specially selected pharmacies to help distribute the jab.
Valley Pharmacy on Chipstead Valley Road has been chosen to do it for our community and will be opening on 4th February. They’ve worked with St. Aidan's Parish and Reverend Peter who have offered their hall to use as a Centre.
You’ll all know they are unable to take bookings directly. When it is your turn for the vaccine you will be contacted by the NHS and can then book your appointment through the NHS National Booking System. The NHS are vaccinating patients based on a priority basis, for example Care Home Residents and staff and the over 80’s. In the meantime please keep following the lockdown rules and social distancing guidance. Until enough of us are vaccinated it’s the only way to protect our community from serious harm.
As you can imagine, this is a huge task for the pharmacy, as such they have asked for local volunteers to help them out. From 4th February they will be running the clinic from 8am to 8pm for 7 days a week. They are looking to run shifts from 8am-12pm; 12pm-4pm and 4pm-8pm. If you are able to help, please email [email protected] with your name, telephone number and when you would be free to help. Full PPE and training will be provided.
To the team at Valley Pharmacy, and those helping them including St Aidan’s - thank you!
