We are one of the 1% of have swam the English channel. Crossing the busiest shipping lane in the world; The Dover Strait. Now I can add Channel swimmer to my list of achievements this year! . Yesterday couldn’t have gone any better!! The Dover Darlings relay team made the crossing in 14hrs, 53 mins and 22 seconds with each swimmer swimming 3, 1hr slots. . We started at 1:10am in the pitch black in Folkestone and ended in glorious sunshine at the beach in France 🇫🇷 just up from Wissant!. . The day went like a dream with great camaraderie between friends. We all had a great time and I honestly couldn’t have had a better team! . My final swim was so very tough, I had doubts & the beach didn’t look like it was getting any closer, the cheers & support as well as a strong kick got me to land at the beach with 6 mins of my hour to spare. Otherwise another changeover was needed. . I made it, ran clear of the water and dropped to my knees crying happy tears!! I had a bewildered but lovely French 🇫🇷man come over to see if I was ok and he couldn’t believe we’d just swam from England🏴! . If Carlsberg made adventures!!! This was one of the best moments. . I’m also ecstatic to announce that since 2012 I’ve been trying to reach £30k in donations for my hand, well the figure is over that. The target on the Virgin page is £80k for additional surgery; Osseointegration, fees like consultation, physio and fittings but i have the money for the actual hand🦾 . Thank you to each and everyone for your continued support throughout. You’re the best!!
