The former Labour Administration awarded the contract for bus shelters in 2021 but crucially also allowed the removal of the bus shelters well in advance of delivery of the new bus shelters that did not arrive.
There has been no provision for the last 4 years as many residents in our ward have reported their disappointment and frustration with no shelter during cold and wet weather.
Following the election of Mayor Perry the Conservative Administration has pushed VALO for two years but they failed to deliver.
The Council will now partner with TFL who deliver for the majority of London councils.
TFL have the skills, experience and capability to deliver the shelters Croydon requires in a timely manner.
