I was visiting a Purley resident recently, and while (motor-)biking along Woodcote Valley Road, I noticed that the some of hoarding surrounding one of the building sites has completely disappeared so there's nothing to stop kids or anyone else from going onto the site and causing mischief. I've reported this to Planning Enforcement, so I hope that action will soon be taken to make the site safe.
While in Brighton Road, Purley, I noticed that one of the main sewer covers opposite #924 makes a loud click every time a lorry drives over it - this must be VERY irritating for local residents living above the shops, so I've reported this on the Thames Water website.
I also reported that a road gully which was previously blocked by careless builders rinsing their equipment on the highway is blocked again, so I hope that the Council's Highways department takes the builder to task and gets them to pay for cleaning it up.
Finally I was called to visit an elderly resident who very unfortunately had to have a leg amputated in the summer. They had just about got by with help and support from friends and relatives, but were not aware of many of the support services to which I think they may be entitled. I'll be contacting the wonderful Carer Support centre in George Street to arrange for an expert to get in touch.
