Sadly numerous trees have been lost in the borough. In Sanderstead hundreds have trees have been lost and not replaced. It now appears that many of the empty pits are having tarmac as a substitute for new trees. This is distressing for many residents and in particular the lovely cherry trees that have been lost largely due to natural causes are not being replaced. This is not a priority for the council and despite residents offering to pay for the trees it seems the offer has fallen on deaf ears. No surprise to me but disappointing for residents.
