It's been just over a week since the by-election announcement for Park Hill and Whitgift at Olympia and I'm still not sure the news has completely sunk in!
I want to thank the residents of Park Hill and Whitgift for putting your trust in me to represent you. It is an honour and privilege to be able to represent the area I call home, and I promise to do my best to stand up for, and protect Park Hill and Whitgift.
Over the coming weeks and months I'm really looking forward to being able to engage more with the Park Hill and Whitgift community. Already this week I've been in touch with the local residents associations, caught up with local business owners in the cafe and the kiosk; arranged a walk about with the new local policing team and set up time to speak to Park Friends Groups about how we can work together to tackle some of the issues they are facing.
I promise that as your local councillor I will always make sure that I am listening to what matters to you. Whether through virtual meetings, in person chats, or through emails and regular newsletters; I will make sure that I am an advocate for all residents, businesses and groups in the ward and if there is anything I can help you with, or anything you think I should know about please do get in touch! I also promise to work to hold the failing Labour Council to account, to make clear that enough is enough, and to press the council to deliver the best possible services for the residents of Park Hill and Whitgift.
Looking forward to seeing you over the coming weeks.
Cllr Jade Appleton
