For far too long Croydon Council have dragged their feet over flooding problems affecting Asmar Close and Hillars Heath Road. I was informed this week that they are in the process of progressing the design works for the site.
The proposed flood alleviation measures include:
• replacing the existing kerb which runs across Asmar Close at the Asmar Close/Hillars Hill Road junction with a linear drainage channel system
• intercepting section for the surface water run-off generated from the large catchment area at Greenfield Link to ease the pressure on Asmar Close (achieved by incorporating new gullies which will discharge to a new soakaway).
I so hope that these long overdue works will not be stalled or even worse cancelled as a result of Labour bankrupting our town WATCH THIS SPACE.
