It was great to finally be able to make my maiden speech in the council chamber this week. I outlined how much I appreciated the opportunity to represent the area I call home and the great aspects of the Park Hill and Whitgift ward, ranging from the local parks, to community and residents groups, to our local policing team and businesses.
I've been appointed to a number of committees on the council - Scrutiny and Overview, where I hope to hold Croydon to account properly going forward. Streets, Homes and Environment Committee, where I hope to be able to press for the best services for residents in the community. Tenants and Leaseholder Panel where I will hope to work with residents to ensure they are listened to and involved in consultations. Traffic Management Committee, and also I have been placed as a reserve on the planning committee.
Through my work in the council chamber and on committees, I will do my best to ensure Park Hill and Whitgift receives the service it deserves from the council.
