On Friday evening I attended the AGM of Croydon Scout Council – by Zoom of course.
It was so good to hear that whilst the coronavirus pandemic has stopped so many Scouting activities here in Sanderstead and right across Croydon, virtual Scouting has been fully embraced.
I know that Croydon Scouting had some fantastic plans for this year but they have all had to be shelved. Instead Group Scout Leaders have been delivering a full and wide range of ‘Screen time’ Scouting to hundreds of young people across our local area every week. This is a tremendous effort – so huge thanks to all those volunteers involved.
Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before ‘screen time’ can be changed back to ‘green time’ and all the great life skill activities, adventures and friendships which Croydon Scouting offers to our 6 to 25 year olds, can all get going again.
