As I had mentioned in a previous blog the land and grass as you turn the corner from Sanderstead Hill into Purley Downs Road has collapsed. This was partly down to the fact that the land was not maintained by the council and had become very heavy and weighty with the uncut hedge and abundance of weeds but also a contributory factor was the emptying of a swimming pool from a property that backs on to the land. I have been in touch with the council on a number of occasions and whilst they have removed the majority of debris from the pavement some of the sand is still lying at the bottom of the hill, with a cordon of barriers. There still seems to be no resolution as to how the bank is going to be made safe and secure.
