I recently had the chance to visit Acorn House on the Brighton Road in Purley (near the Fire Station) for the Croydon Churches Housing Association (CCHA)’s estate action day.
The CCHA is a social housing housing provider founded in 1967, with over 1,500 homes across the London Boroughs of Croydon, Sutton and Bromley.
The estate action day was a good opportunity for me to meet the team and local residents. The team were on hand to survey residents about how they felt about their homes, any concerns they had or issues they wanted to raise and feedback about the CCHA.
Whilst there, the CCHA raised the issue of the road being in urgent need of repair and leading to an excess of water following flooding. It is believed this is the responsibility of the freeholder of 130 Brighton Road but I have raised this with Council officers and asked them to act at the earliest opportunity.
Thank you to the team for organising this important day, which I know residents appreciated.
