Riddlesdown Road closure - TOMORROW

We were advised only last night that the Council is finally to undertake resurfacing of Riddlesdown Road, meaning that it will be closed tomorrow Saturday 25th February 2023 between 07.30 and 17.30.

This is the section of road between the mini roundabout at the Purley Downs Rd junction and the Brighton Rd junction opposite Capella Court and close to the recycling centre.

We have been advised that "The diversion route for displaced traffic will be via Brighton Road southbound, A22, A23, Brighton Road northbound, Purley Park Road or via Purley Downs Road, Brighton Road southbound, A22, A23, Brighton Road northbound."

 I have been working with the Riddlesdown Residents Association to persuade the Council to get this stretch of road resurfaced properly. After it was poorly patched up previously, the surface has lifted and become a danger to all road users, particularly cyclists.
