Riddlesdown Residents will begin to see the return of pupils to Riddlesdown Collegiate from Monday 8th March, I am sure it will be a really exciting time for pupils, most of whom will not have seen their friends for quite some time.
Testing
The first 3 days will be focused on Testing between 9am to 11.30am and 1pm to 3.30pm. Pupils will have been sent details of the timeslot at which they should arrive.
All pupils will return on Thursday March 11th with the same staggered timings as last term; 8.20am – 2.30pm for Years 7-9 and 9.30am –3.40pm for Years 10-13.
Buses
I understand that the 612 will be running again from Monday. There has not been any news on whether the frequency of the 412 will be increased to permit social distancing.
Parking at Riddlesdown Common Car Park
Some parents drop off and collect their children from the CIty of London Car Park. There is now a fee for parking and this is operated via ANPR. There is a grace period of 10 minutes - so more than enough time to drop off and collect (if you're child arrives when they say they will)! I am concerned that some parents won't notice the signs and will park up for more than 10 minutes over several days, only to receive multiple fines some time later - so if you know anyone who parks up for more than 10 minutes to wait for their children, do let them know).
New Pupils
Parents of Year 6s will have received their secondary school offer this week - I hope that all local parents and children are happy with the offer that they have received. Unlike the last few years, I have not received any concerned emails about applications and I expect that this will be due to the new admissions criteria which prioritised children by distance, meaning that Riddlesdown children have gained a place at their local school. This is great for local families and hopefully will lead to less traffic in the area as more pupils live within walking distance.
