Residents have just informed me that auction boards have been erected on the Rail View PH.
This follows on from a Planning Enforcement visit that I requested recently following reports of activity on the site. The owner informed the Council he was working on a planning application to bring forward in the next months. We had heard this many times before and now it is up for auction.
There has been at least one other unsuccessful attempt to sell this site.
For well over five years this building has been a blight on our local area and a real concern for residents. Right from the start of this sad saga with the partial illegal demolition attempt the Labour Administration of Croydon Council has refused to listen to the concerns of residents and ward councillors preferring at every stage to believe the owner/developer
Lets hope whatever now happens will be in the best interest of the local community.
