Did you know that you can register to receive notifications of planning applications near you?
We know that residents sometimes get frustrated when planning applications are made on properties near where they live, but they didn’t know about them. Fortunately, there are several ways to ensure you receive timely alerts.
- Register directly onto Croydon Council’s Public Access Register which will enable you to search for planning applications, appeals and enforcements by keyword, application reference, postcode or by a single line of an address. You can also set up a registration for tracking applications, saving searches and to receive email notifications about tracked applications and new search results. The council has produced a guide on how to search for planning applications and how to register to receive notification emails. View the guide here.
- Join the Purley & Woodcote Residents Association (PWRA) or the Hartley & District Residents Association (HADRA) depending on where you live in the ward. Both Resident Associations have active Facebook pages and HADRA has a planning table and also receive support on applications within the HADRA area. Email [email protected] or [email protected] for more details.
Residents new to planning will often contact their ward councillors for guidance on how to comment on planning applications. Our Kenley colleagues, Gayle Gander and Ola Kolade helpfully put this guide together: A short guide to making effective comments on a Planning Application. Additionally, both the PWRA and HADRA provide useful planning advice to their members.
We’re also on hand to help and of course support/object/refer where appropriate and can be contacted at [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected].
