It was really interesting to hear from local residents about their concerns regarding Purley Pool. Croydon's Labour Council has decided to keep Purley Pool closed although it is going through the motions of a consultation that does not include an option to indicate that participants would want to have the Pool reopened.
Tonight's Zoom meeting was hosted by Cllr Jason Perry, the Conservative Group Leader, and we also heard from Cllr Simon Brew, Samir Dwesar, Holly Ramsey, Chris Philp MP, Fred Wallis (of the Save Purley Pool Campaign), Bernard Searle (a previous manager of Purley Leisure Centre), Colette Luke (the inspiring teacher from St Aidan's School in Coulsdon), and Derek Evans (from Enterprise Swimming Club which provided swimming sessions for disabled people who no longer have anywhere to swim).
We heard some great ideas and lots of enthusiasm. If you would like to join the conversation please do join us again at Christ Church Primary School, Montpelier Road next Wednesday, 3rd November at 7pm.
