After the successful clear up of the the area around Purley Oaks station after the flooding, the process begins to find a way to alleviate future floods.
After pushing for action on this, I have been advised that the Council will be conducting a Section19 investigation and report to be undertaken under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010. The report will analyse the affected area and its flood history, summarise all of the information gathered during the investigation, identify relevant flood risk management authorities and where possible identify any further possible flood resilience actions that could be taken. The Council will also work with Network Rail to identify further mitigation measures to reduce the impact of future flood events.
A copy of the final report with recommendations will be published on the councils website in due course, which I will link to via this website too.
