A resident got in touch with me regarding street lighting issues on Purley Knoll (at the Woodcote Valley Road end). He said the lights were providing very limited coverage, which is far from ideal given safety issues.
I am pleased that the Council's street lighting team responded so swiftly and increased the lamp wattage on the two columns in Woodcote Valley Road, which are situated either side of the Purley Knoll Junction.
Officers then returned to the site to carry out photometric testing and results were compliant in line with British Standard BS5489, which gives recommendations on the general principles of road lighting.
I am grateful to the resident for raising this important issue and to Council officers for acting on this so quickly.
