Mayor Perry recently announced that Purley will receive funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) as part of £2.5m awarded to Croydon.
Croydon's plan focuses on high street and public space improvements and we are delighted that Purley will be a successful recipient, alongside Thornton Heath, Selsdon and New Addington for a period of three years.
More generally a sizeable £610,000 funding package will support local businesses, particularly SMEs around Croydon and in 2023, the Council plans to establish a Young Entrepreneurs Academy to support Croydon's next generation of entrepreneurs (aged 18-25). £294,000 has also been earmarked to support Croydon's emerging, creative, tech and digital sector as well as businesses that make up our night-time economy.
We are delighted that Purley will be a recipient of funding to boost our high street. Plans will directly be shaped by local communities so please do not hesitate to get in touch with your local councillors, Simon ([email protected]), Samir ([email protected]) and Holly ([email protected]) to share your ideas.
