I'm delighted that Purley businesses have joined a national scheme to provide a safe haven for anyone who needs protection, perhaps from an angry or abusive partner or even a potential bag-snatcher. Any shop displaying this sign has committed to provide a safe environment to anyone who walks in asking for help. Purley BID now pays for increased security patrols around the centre, so let's hope that this service is very rarely needed, but it's good to know that it's there.
